Deadline spoke with several sources who worked on the set of Netflix's "The Fall of the House of Usher" about the misconduct allegations against actor Frank Langella. Several sources used the word "toxic" to describe Langella's behavior on set and some accused the actor of cracking "crass" jokes or making other cast and crew members "very uncomfortable." More: Bruce Greenwood will replace Langella in the role of Roderick Usher in the series. On May 4, Langella published a Deadline column, explaining that the allegation against him resulted from an acting choice during a love scene, and referring to himself as a victim of "cancel culture." Netflix has confirmed that the incident described by Langella -- in which he touched a young actress on the leg -- initially motivated the investigation, but the internal probe ultimately involved more than a dozen incidents and accusations, which occurred over the course of several weeks.
