In an interview with TV Line, "Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer said that the fifth and final season of the show will take place after a time jump. Though there's no set date to start production on the show's final episodes, Matt Duffer said the duo have the scripts "pretty well mapped out." More: - Ross Duffer said the hardest part of the writing process has been getting the ending just right, noting "we really want to stick the landing."
- The Duffers conceded that the best way to shoot Seasons 4 and 5 would have been back to back, due to how quickly the show's lead actors are aging, but it just wasn't a realistic plan.
- The Duffers also told TV Line that they're not ready to think about Season 5 yet in a practical sense, as they're still fine-tuning the final two Season 4 episodes, debuting in July.

Abrams, Bill Lawrence, Jimmy Kimmel and his writing staff, Judd Apatow, Michelle and Robert King, David Shore, and Jenni Konner.

- Christy Callahan of Brady LA said that, in discussions with Hollywood creatives, her organization found there was a lot of concern, beyond just "better gun laws," around "modeling gun safety on screen."

Disney+'s "Obi-Wan Kenobi" A new report from MoffettNathanson analyst Michael Nathanson estimates that Disney+ could generate $1.8 billion in US ad revenue by 2025. Nathanson also speculated that Netflix revenue could reach $1.2 billion by that same point. More: - The report, released Tuesday, was titled "Mad Men to the Rescue?" and conceded that "very little is known" about either streamers' plans in terms of pricing or new membership tiers.
- Nathanson postulates that, while Netflix has greater potential for global ad growth, Disney+ has a more profitable domestic opportunity, due to a higher rate of revenue per user and a greater demand for Disney content.
- Nathanson also argues that pivoting to advertising from a purely subscription-based model "has the ability to strengthen the margin profile and growth trajectory" of both services.
- MoffettNathanson maintained its "neutral" ratings on both Disney and Netflix stock.

Vanity Fair got an early look at the upcoming stop-motion animated "Pinocchio" film from director Guillermo del Toro. The director is presenting the film at this week's Annecy Animation Festival in France; it comes to Netflix in December. More: - Del Toro co-directed the film with Mark Gustafson and wrote the script with Patrick McHale, based on the original 1883 novel by Carlo Collodi (though this retelling apparently also takes inspiration from "Frankenstein").
- The voice cast includes Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Finn Wolfhard, and Cate Blanchett.
- The Jim Henson Company also collaborated with Del Toro on the film; Lisa Henson is credited as a producer.
- Del Toro stresses that he purposefully tried to move his adaptation away from the classic Disney version, which he calls "the pinnacle of Disney animation"; his film is set in a more grounded, historical version of Italy, in between the First and Second World Wars.
