Super Bowl LVI The NFL's official streaming service -- named NFL+ -- launched in the US on Monday. Subscriptions cost $4.99/month or $39.99 for a year. More: - The service includes all local and primetime regular season and post-season NFL games, and allows access via mobile devices; no exclusive regular-season games are currently scheduled for NFL+.

- Subscribers also get access to all out-of-market pre-season games, a feature formerly available exclusively via an NFL Game Pass subscription.
- The NFL pre-season begins on August 4, with the Jacksonville Jaguars facing the Las Vegas Rams; that game will be nationally televised rather than streaming on NFL+.
- This is the very first dedicated streaming service from the NFL; both Major League Baseball and the NBA already offer subscriptions to their own services.

Netflix now directs iPhone and iPad users to an external webpage to sign up for the service, rather than completing the transaction within their apps. Apple updated its App Store policy, allowing selected apps to link out to their own third-party account sign-up pages, in March. More: - Initially, Apple did not permit apps to link out to their own websites for new subscribers, forcing most companies to process subscriptions as in-app purchases and pay Apple a 30% commission.
- Now, users who tap the external sign-up link receive a message warning them they're "about to leave the app" and that transactions on external pages are not affiliated with or supervised by Apple.
- Though Apple has loosened the general rule, several restrictions remain in place; for example, Netflix is not permitted to feature pricing information alongside the external link.
