A debut NFL Black Friday game will stream on Amazon Prime Video for free this year. The participating teams will be announced at a later date ahead of the November 24 match-up. More: The game starts at 3 pm ET on the day after Thanksgiving and will be available to all, even viewers without a Prime Video account. Prime Video will stream 16 regular-season NFL games throughout the 2023 season, between Weeks 2 and 17, along with one pre-season game. Amazon has previously made some live sporting events free to stream for non-subscribers, but never for domestic viewers within the US. YouTube announced changes to its controversial new rules against profanity, introduced in late 2022. The November rule change flagged any video that featured profanity within the first 15 seconds, and made it ineligible for monetization. More: The new relaxed rules will allow monetization for videos featuring profanity within the first 7 seconds, so long as obscenities are not used frequently throughout the video. The platform also plans to go back and re-review flagged videos from the last few months under the new regulations. Moderate profanity is also acceptible in background music, backing tracks, or intro and outro music, so long as it's not featured throughout the video. The new rules go into effect on Wednesday. Netflix ordered a new comedy series from "The Good Place" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" vet Mike Schur, based on the 2021 Oscar-nominated documentary "The Mole Agent." Ted Danson will star as a retired man who answers a help wanted ad, and gets enlisted as a spy in a private investigator's latest case. More: The original Chilean documentary centered on a PI who hired an elderly man to go undercover in a nursing home, to look into allegations of resident abuse by the staff; it's now streaming on Hulu in the US. Schur and Danson previously collaborated on the NBC sitcom "The Good Place," which aired for four seasons and earned the actor three Emmy nominations. Schur also co-created "Rutherford Falls" for Peacock and currently executive produces HBO Max's "Hacks." TV LINE

HBO's "Succession" Disney confirmed that its Indian platform, Disney+ Hotstar, will drop HBO content starting March 31. The move is part of a larger cost-cutting project spearheaded by CEO Bob Iger, who is attempting to slash $5.5 billion in expenses. More: Last summer, WB Discovery scrapped plans to launch HBO Max in India. There's no final word yet on where HBO content will ultimately stream for Indian viewers, though Amazon Prime Video India is considered the likeliest result, as it already streams HBO Max originals. Disney+ Hotstar is currently the largest Indian streamer, though it lost about 6% of its subscription base last year when it dropped coverage of Indian Premiere League cricket matches. DEADLINE

Greg Peters Netflix pushed back against a European proposal to make streaming providers pay for ISP network upgrades. Co-CEO Greg Peters discussed the proposal during a speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, arguing that the move would primarily hurt the creative community and consumers. More: European ISPs have been demanding that streamers compensate them for needed network ugprades for years; European regulators are currently evaluating the requests. According to data from Sandvine, Netflix currently ranks as the top video traffic generator in the world, surpassing YouTube; streaming video accounts for 65% of all internet traffic. Peters also argued that, as broadband customers already pay for the development of an ISP's network, asking their favorite services to also pay amounts to "charging twice for the same infrastructure."
