What the numbers say: Daily podcast listeners are more likely to pay attention to ads while listening to a show than monthly podcast listeners are. 45% of daily podcast listeners either pay way more attention or a little more attention to podcast ads than ads elsewhere. Only 20% of monthly podcast listeners pay more attention to podcast ads than other commercials. Plenty are unsure about how much they pay attention to ads, as 32% and 47% answered, "I'm not sure." Relevance: DISQO released a report, "Proving the Power of Podcast Ads," highlighting how advertising opportunities in podcasts could pay off for companies. Listeners ages 18-44 were more likely to pay attention to podcast ads over other ads, as 38% selected the top two boxes. Only 27% of respondents 45 and older felt that way. More men responded positively to podcast ads than women by a 36% to 30% clip. Overall, 33% of respondents said they pay way more attention to podcast ads. More findings: Daily listeners are heavily influenced by the host of a podcast reading the ad. 30% answered that the podcast content or host makes them like ads a lot more. DISQO | |

More: - The Austin, Texas-based company will close as of Friday, May 19. It says it is looking to sell its technology and intellectual property.
