1 | The news: A vast majority of American workers are now using AI tools like ChatGPT at work as they face pressure to incorporate AI into their daily tasks, according to a new Checkr survey. What the numbers say: The HR software firm found that 79% of the 3,000 U.S. workers polled feel pressure to gain more knowledge about AI tools, with Millennials taking the lead at 85%. Workers are willing to learn and educate themselves about AI to protect their job security, with 67% willing to invest their own money in AI education. Even so, 69% of American workers, including 63% of Boomers, 65% of Gen Xers, 76% of Millennials, and 71% of Gen Zers, are hesitant to tell their managers that they use AI over fear that the technology could replace them. The bigger picture: Despite the worries, workers also see a positive side to AI's productivity boost, with 86% saying they would take a pay cut to work less if AI could help them complete their tasks. Furthermore, over half would take a pay reduction if it meant AI could result in a four-day workweek. Checkr's survey shows the mixed feelings that employees currently have about AI, which could take over less desirable tasks like data processing, digital task automation, and information discovery. | | |
