U.S researchers have created a neuromorphic chip that mimics the human brain. Using AI, the chip helps patients with their health by analyzing data. More: - Researchers at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering developed a neuromorphic chip that is flexible but also able to compute and process large amounts of data.
- The researchers believe that by having patients use the chip, their symptoms will be tracked immediately after starting, increasing their chances of curing those symptoms dramatically.
- Sihong Wang and his colleagues used polymers, which can be used to build semiconductors and electrochemical transistors but also have the ability to stretch and bend.
- The researchers aim to enable the chip to track complex indicators of health, including levels of oxygen, sugar, metabolites, and immune molecules in people’s blood.
- They have also built the device to analyze electrocardiogram data representing the electrical activity of the human heart. They trained the device to classify ECGs into five categories, healthy or four types of abnormal signals.
