Nielsen signed a three-year deal with Amazon to measure the audience of Prime Video's "Thursday Night Football" streams. Specifically, Nielsen will compare the Prime Video streams with conventional TV NFL broadcasts, to try and get a sense for the games' total audience size (including individuals watching outside of their homes, in locations such as bars or hotels). More: - According to Nielsen, this marks the first time that a streaming service has worked with the company to measure a live viewing audience.
- The move comes at a time when conventional broadcasters have cast doubt on Nielsen's methodology and have been encouraging advertisers to consider new approaches to audience measurement.

Bob Chapek In an open letter sent to Disney CEO Bob Chapek on Monday, Third Point activist investor Daniel Loeb suggested that the company purchase back its stake in Hulu from Comcast prior to the 2024 deadline. Loeb further feels that ESPN and the ESPN+ streaming service should be spun off to reduce the company's overall debt load. More: - Loeb argues that integrating Hulu directly into Disney+ would "reignite growth in the domestic market."
- He also feels that ESPN could expand further into the sports betting industry if it were able to operate independently of Disney.
- Chapek did address the possibility of integrating sports betting into ESPN during Disney's last earnings call.
- The letter expressed confidence in Chapek and Disney's "current trajectory" and expressed a desire to work "directly and constructively" with the management team.

Princess Diana, Prince William, Prince Charles The makers of the HBO docuseries "The Princess" defended their decision to include clips from an infamous and widely-discredited 1995 interview with Princess Diana, taken from the BBC series "Panorama." In 2021, Diana's son Prince William said that he felt the media should decline from ever again broadcasting the segment, which was allegedly produced by journalist Martin Bashir using misleading and manipulative tactics. More: - During the 1995 interview, Diana spoke about her unhappiness in her marriage, her experiences within the royal family, and her thoughts on whether or not Prince Charles would ever become King.
- A representative for "The Princess" responded that archival footage is shown throughout the film "without commentary from today" and the interview was featured "as a moment of historical record."
- Prince William spoke out against the footage following a formal inquiry in 2021, arguing that it was produced in a deceptive and incompetent way, and "made lurid and false claims about the Royal Family" that played into Diana's "fears and fuelled paranoia."
- Last month, the BBC's director-general Tim Davie formally apologized to Prince Charles and Prince Harry for the interview.
- "The Princess" is now streaming on HBO Max in the US.
