Pedowitz with "Supernatural" stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles Mark Pedowitz exited his role as Chairman and President of The CW after 11 and a half years. Local TV conglomerate Nexstar Media Group recently took over 75% control of the broadcast TV network and streaming app. More: Nexstar board member Dennis Miller will take over as CW president. The Will Smith period action-thriller "Emancipation" will premiere in theaters on December 2 before making its streaming debut on Apple TV+ on December 9. Will Smith and Antoine Fuqua hosted the first public screening of the film over the weekend in Washington DC, as part of an event co-hosted by the NAACP. More: Smith stars in the film as Peter, a slave who escapes a Louisana plantation, travels North and ultimately joins the Union Army. It's loosely based on the true story of "Gordon," the escaped slave featured in iconic photos showcasing his scourged back following a series of whippings. Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day") directed. Smith's performance in the film has long been considered an Oscar contender, complicated by the fact that he's been banned from the Academy Awards ceremony for 10 years after slapping presenter Chris Rock. Apple has another likely Oscar contender, Martin Scorsese's "The Killers of the Flower Moon," opening in 2023. DEADLINE

A message from KALSHI Election Betting Markets may be coming soon For decades, being an investor meant buying exposure to a broad spectrum of factors outside of your intended investment: political change, the economy, consumer sentiment and more. Your investments are your decisions, and you should be able to control both completely. That’s why Kalshi built an entirely new asset class — one that Wall Street has never shared – so every American can take back control of their investment decisions: The event contract. Event contracts on Kalshi let you trade real world events on the first ever fully CFTC-regulated exchange. And the decision couldn't be simpler: will something happen, or not? Traders can buy "Yes" or "No" shares tied to specific future events — like "Has inflation peaked?" As the event becomes more likely to happen, the value of the share appreciates. You can sell the shares any time, or hold until the market resolves. Will the Republicans win control of the house? Will the US go into recession? Will 2022 be the hottest year on record? Will there be a moon landing before 2025? Whatever your view, Kalshi lets you trade it. Trade Politics & More

Beatriz Gonzalez and Jose Hernandez The US Supreme Court agreed to hear a case that could have far-reaching implications for tech companies that host problematic or divisive content. The family of Nohemi Gonzalez -- one of 130 people killed in terrorist attacks by the militant group ISIS -- seeks permission to sue YouTube, arguing that the video sharing platform's algorithms helped to spread the organization's violent message. More: Internet companies such as YouTube are typically shielded from such lawsuits by the Communications Decency Act, passed by Congress in 1996, which holds that platforms are not responsible for content posted by users in public forums. The Gonzalez lawsuit argues that, because YouTube's algorithm takes an active role in recommending videos, these traditional protections do not apply. Gonzalez -- a US citizen studying abroad -- was killed in November of 2015, during a wave of coordinated ISIS terror attacks in Paris. Her relatives initially filed a lawsuit against Google in the US in 2016, claiming that the site violated the federal Anti-Terrorism Act. CNBC

A number of "House of the Dragon" fans complained on social media that Sunday night's episode was too dimly-lit to see clearly, echoing similar complaints from the final season of HBO's "Game of Thrones." Porn star Rocco Siffredi told Italy's FQ magazine that the upcoming Netflix series "Supersex" was loosely inspired by his life, but will not be an entirely realistic portrayal. *This is sponsored content
