Rep. Mary Peltola (D-Alaska) won a full term Wednesday, again defeating former Republican Gov. Sarah Palin under the state's ranked-choice-voting system.
Peltola beat Palin after the votes were tabulated, reallocating the second choices of Republican Nick Begich, who finished third. The results mirrored the results of an Aug. 19 special election, when Peltola also defeated Palin after Begich's votes were redistributed.
But Peltola's victory Wednesday was more decisive: She earned a greater percentage of first-place votes, nearly clinching a majority without the ranked-choice tabulation.
