According to The Wrap, several divisive or controversial comments made by rapper Kanye "Ye" West during an interview with David Letterman were cut before the show's debut on Netflix. More: - Ye appeared during Season 2 of Letterman's Netflix series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction."
- The Wrap report was based on accounts from multiple people who viewed the interview's live taping.
- Though the show did include a comment by West about the bullying of Trump supporters, it apparently did not feature the complete context.
- Other portions of the interview that didn't make it to air concerned West's anxieties about being "MeToo-ed" and conspiracy theories about the movement's origin.
- A statement from Letterman's production company, Worldwide Pants, noted that "the producers went to great lengths to accurately present [West's comments], and Dave challenged him on each of these."
- West has been under fire since October for a string of public statements relating to political conspiracy theories, including a number of anti-Semitic statements.
