Lucid surpasses revised production goal / Porsche considering Google apps integration / Average vehicle transaction price increased 4.9% YoY

1. Lucid Group announced it manufactured 7,180 vehicles in 2022, surpassing its adjusted goal of 6,000 to 7,000 for the year. Lucid's original of producing 20,000 Air electric luxury sedans in 2022 was revised twice during the year, citing supply chain and logistics issues. Porsche is reportedly negotiating the integration of Google apps into its vehicles. On the other hand, BMW revealed on Thursday that it opted for its own user interface. 3. The average vehicle transaction price increased by 1.9% MoM in December to $49,507 in the U.S., according to Kelley Blue Book. The increase, which constituted a 4.9% YoY rise, sets a new record for the average transaction value.  4. Chinese company Apollo Future Mobility plans to purchase Baidu-backed electric vehicle manufacturer WM Motor Holdings for $2.02B. WM is preparing to launch its M7 sedan model in 2023. 5. National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy warned about the increasing size and weight of vehicles, including EVs, over concerns of "increased risk of severe injury." Homendy specifically mentioned the 9,000-pound Hummer EV. 6. Volkswagen's Skoda unit experienced its fourth consecutive year of decreases in deliveries in 2022. The automaker shipped 731,300 units, with the 16.7% YoY decline blamed on the war in Ukraine and supply chain issues. 7. Incidents involving shared e-scooters decreased by 60% in Europe in 2021 versus 2019, according to a report by industry association MMfE.
