McKinsey study says micro-mobility will generate $90B in 2030 / Virgin Orbit's first launch out of the U.K. failed / GM to shift Mexico plant to EVs

1. McKinsey & Company revealed a new study that projects the shared micro-mobility sector will generate $90B in 2030, which would represent a 40% growth per year from 2019. The study estimates that micro-mobility rides will comprise 10% of the overall mobility space by 2030. General Motors reportedly plans to shift 100% of its assembly in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, to EVs, starting in 2024, according to Mexico’s Economy Minister, Raquel Buenrostro. Let us know. 3. Virgin Orbit's first launch out of the U.K. failed to reach orbit on Monday. This is the company's second failure out of six missions.  4. Texas is granting $3.2M to Universal EV Chargers for installing 105 stations at 21 sites, including apartment buildings and hospitality locations. 5. The Federal Aviation Administration announced a partnership with the Korean Office of Civil Aviation for developing airworthiness criteria, licensing, and operations involving eVTOL safety. The FAA previously signed agreements with Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the U.K. 6. Stellantis announced it reached an agreement with Australian mining company Element 25 to supply manganese sulfate for EV batteries for five years, starting in 2026. The automaker expects to receive 5,000 metric tons during the first year of the contract, followed by 10,000 metric tons for the remaining years. 7. Rideshare company Revel plans to open five new public EV charging locations in New York City for a total of 160 charging stalls.
