Netflix unveiled its full 2023 feature film slate, including 49 individual titles. It's a far less ambitious release schedule than Netflix's 2022 slate, which featured 86 films. More: The streamer released a compilation trailer providing first looks at a number of highly-anticipated new films, including David Fincher's "The Killer," Zack Snyder's "Rebel Moon," David Yates' "Pain Hustlers," and F. Gary Gray's "Lift."  Nine of the films announced for 2023 were originally scheduled for release last year, including the cigil rights drama "Rustin," the Adam Sandler vehicle "Spaceman," and the humorous sci-fi caper "They Cloned Tyrone." A few planned 2023 Netflix releases still don't have premiere dates set, including Bradley Cooper's Leonard Bernstein biopic "Maestro" and Wes Anderson's Roald Dahl adaptation "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar." Stephen Colbert's company, Spartina, grabbed the rights to adapt author Roger Zelazny's iconic fantasy novels "The Chronicles of Amber" for television. Spartina will team with "Walking Dead" producers Skybound Entertainment on the series. More: The book is a favorite of "Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin, who was personal friends with the late author and has repeatedly made the case for a TV adaptation. Martin is not directly involved in the project. The novel, first published in 1970, centers around a man with no memory who discovers that he's the prince of a royal family, and has the ability to travel through different dimensions of reality. Currently, no studio or network is attached to the project, but Colbert has a first-look deal with CBS Studios. HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

Brett Johnson Hulu is developing a drama series based on Adam White's bestselling novel "The Midcoast." "Escape from Dannemora" co-creator Brett Johnson wrote the adaptation and will executive produce along with long-time TV executive Warren Littlefield. More: The book, published last year, centers on Ed Thatch, a lobster fisherman-turned-blue collar criminal living along the scenic coast of Maine. The show will be produced by 20th Television, where Littlefield has an overall deal. In addition to co-creating and showrunning Showtime's "Dannemora," Johnson also wrote on Hulu's limited series "Candy" and produced "Ray Donovan." DEADLINE

Paramount+ renewed the military drama "SEAL Team" for a seventh season. The Season 6 finale premiered about two months ago, and closed out with a cliffhanger. More: The renewal news came a bit later in the season than is typical for CBS shows; apparently there were behind-the-scenes discussions about ways to deliver future seasons more cost-effectively. "SEAL Team" debuted as a broadcast drama on CBS with 22 episodes per season; the Paramount+ version features just 10 yearly episodes, creating some logistical headaches. A "SEAL Team" standalone film was announced last February, when the show was renewed for a sixth season; no new updates were offered about the status of this project. Star David Boreanaz is expected to return as team leader Jason Hayes for the new episodes, along with co-stars Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks, and Raffi Barsoumian. DEADLINE
