Rivian rolls out range update / California approves Nikola fuel-cell trucks tax credit

1. Rivian rolled out a software update that increased the battery depth of discharge for the R1S and R1T models. Ford is expected to announce a $3.5B lithium iron phosphate battery facility to be run jointly with Chinese battery company CATL in Michigan. Last month, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin decided not to subsidize the plant in his state over concerns about Chinese influence. 5. Mesa Airlines reported $147.2M in operating revenue for the last quarter, decreasing from $147.8M during the same period the previous year. In December, the regional airline received $41.2M in financing and $80M for engines from United Airlines for a 10% stake. 6. Geely's electric vehicle brand Zeekr raised $750M, which includes participation from CATL, valuing the brand at $13B. Zeekr filed for a U.S. IPO, which is expected in Q2 2023. 7. EU antitrust regulators will reportedly probe the proposed merger between Asiana and Korean Air.
