| 1 | | West Coast ports are shutting down as union workers have failed to reach an agreement with port management officials. SSA and TraPac, two of the largest terminals in the Port of Oakland, are not working. More: - The majority of imports and exports are processed through SSA and TraPac, according to officials from the Port of Oakland. Employees at these ports have stopped showing up to work and reporting to management.
- The Port of Oakland is the eighth largest in the U.S.
- This port is used to import wine and meat from Australia, aluminum from South Korea, and clothing, electronics, and furniture from China, among other items.
- This crisis puts a halt to the momentum that West Coast ports had gained after losing volume to ports on the East Coast earlier this year, precisely due to labor liability issues.
- Even though work has been shut down in several ports, the situation is not being considered a formal strike.

- Jaguar stated that car owners would not be charged for the repair, and those that have paid will be reimbursed.
- The issue is similar to a battery issue that General Motors faced last year with Bolt EVs, which forced the company to recall 140,000 vehicles throughout the U.S. and Canada.

- The 99-mph top speed is a far cry from the Microbus of the 1960s, after which the ID.Buzz is modeled, with its 40-horsepower engine that struggled to reach 60 mph on flat ground.
- Volkswagen hasn't yet announced the range of the three-row version, though the European version has a 263-mile range.
- Considering that the U.S. version has more horsepower, a higher top speed, and is longer, it is likely to cost more than $65,000, which is the base price for the European model.
