Hey Insiders,  Today's issue covers Kong's projections for API attacks and the cost associated with it, a new "allow this time" option in Chrome's permission prompts, and Python Steering Council's GIL removal plan.  Sudarshan p/sudarshan

1 Cloud-native API management firm Kong's new research predicts a 996% increase in API attacks from 1,241 in 2022 to 13,608 by 2030. The research estimates that national annual costs of API security breaches in the U.S. will increase from $10.6B to $198B in the same time period. The findings show that there is an urgent need for better governance and security for APIs.

2 Google announced the addition of "Allow this time" option to permission prompts in Chrome 116 and a feature that allows site owners to review the Impact and Recommendations of this option. Chrome is initially rolling out the option for desktop computers and for the most common permissions - geolocation, camera, and microphone.
