| 1 | | Spotify is taking a big step in the future of podcasting by utilizing AI to pilot Voice Translation for podcasts. Spotify will use AI to translate podcasts into different languages, broadening the reach of the shows. More: - The new Spotify-developed tool uses OpenAI's new voice generational technology to match the host's speaking style and provide a more natural-sounding experience than dubbing.
- Spotify has partnered with podcasters Dax Shepard, Monica Padman, Lex Fridman, Bill Simmons, and Steven Bartlett to use AI to translate their voices into different languages for future episodes and select episodes that have already been released.
- The languages include Spanish, French, and German.
- "By matching the creator's own voice, Voice Translation gives listeners around the world the power to discover and be inspired by new podcasters in a more authentic way than ever before," says Ziad Sultan, Spotify's VP of Personalization.
- You can hear a select few episodes in Spanish, including Lex Friedman Podcast, Armchair Expert, and The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett right now.
