| 1 | | A recent analysis by Graphite revealed that pull requests that changed the fewest files were the fastest. Graphite analyzed 1.5 million pull requests and examined the correlation between the number of files changed and the time taken for these pull requests to merge. More: - According to Graphite, even a marginal increase in the number of files changed led to the time-to-merge more than doubling, indicating higher risks and a greater likelihood of failing CI processes.
- The analysis also discovered a counterintuitive trend: as pull requests grew beyond a moderate level of complexity, the time spent reviewing each file decreased.
- Graphite attributed this trend to a shift in the reviewer's strategy from a meticulous line-by-line assessment to a risk-oriented evaluation of larger PRs.
- In order to create high-quality code and maintain an efficient review process, Graphite recommends limiting pull requests to three or fewer file changes.

| 2 | | The Verge reported that Spotify did not pay any Play Store fees because of a secret deal between Spotify and Google. Both companies also committed $50M each to a success fund. More: - Don Harrison, head of global partnerships at Google, revealed during a testimony in the Epic v. Google trial Spotify paid 0% commission when users bought subscriptions through Spotify's own system.
- Further, when users chose Google to process their payment, Spotify paid 4%, compared to the 15% other app developers pay.
- Google requested the court to keep the secret deal private as it could damage negotiations with other app developers looking for a better deal.
- Harrison pointed out that Spotify's popularity justified the "bespoke" deal.

| A message from our sponsor, NativePath. | | | Can fat really be good for my brain? Natural fats offer powerful benefits to your body – and your brain. Your brain is comprised of about 60 percent fat, and our brains need fat to work well. In fact, billions of cells rely on fat to operate optimally. Without healthy fat, our brain doesn’t function as well. And when our brain is not operating at a high level, well we all know how that affects the rest of our lives. Fueling your brain with fat provides energy to the brain and helps protect against brain degeneration, among other health benefits. By far, the most well-studied type of fat that does this are naturally occurring fats called medium-chain triglycerides. Most MCTs come in oil form, which can trigger digestive stress like cramping and irregular bowel movements. A high-quality powder format allows for easier digestion and less gut distress. This allows the body and brain to utilize the MCTs more efficiently without an oily, greasy mess. Read More | |
