| 1 | | PwC projects that podcast advertising revenue in the U.S. will grow from $1.45B in 2021 to nearly $4B by 2025. The data reveals that the ad types generating the most revenue are direct response ads, followed by brand awareness ads. What happened: A report from Veritonic found that the top 15 podcasting advertisers spent a total of $68M on podcast ads in October. The leading advertisers were BetterHelp ($20.42M), SimpliSafe ($7.44M), Geico ($7M), Squarespace ($5.77M), and ZipRecruiter ($5.66M). Why it matters: Podcast advertising is becoming more lucrative thanks to the medium's growing popularity. According to YouGov, the percentage of Americans who listen to podcasts has grown from 46% to 56% since 2021, and nearly a quarter of podcast listeners tune in for 5+ hours per week. Riverside reports that half of monthly podcast listeners are between the ages of 12-34. Brands that should care: Brands trying to appeal to a younger target audience should strongly consider investing in podcast advertising, as it can boost brand awareness and visibility. Moreover, companies should try aligning their ads with the topics discussed on podcasts. For example, BetterHelp might benefit from advertising on a podcast about mental health, while Simplisafe should consider advertising on a True Crime-type podcast, as these listeners may be more likely to buy a home security system. | | |

| A message from our sponsor, NativePath. | | | Can fat really be good for my brain? Natural fats offer powerful benefits to your body – and your brain. Your brain is comprised of about 60 percent fat, and our brains need fat to work well. In fact, billions of cells rely on fat to operate optimally. Without healthy fat, our brain doesn’t function as well. And when our brain is not operating at a high level, well we all know how that affects the rest of our lives. Fueling your brain with fat provides energy to the brain and helps protect against brain degeneration, among other health benefits. By far, the most well-studied type of fat that does this are naturally occurring fats called medium-chain triglycerides. Most MCTs come in oil form, which can trigger digestive stress like cramping and irregular bowel movements. A high-quality powder format allows for easier digestion and less gut distress. This allows the body and brain to utilize the MCTs more efficiently without an oily, greasy mess. Read More | |
