| 1 | | Alex Rickabaugh from Angular's team introduced the new built-in syntax for control flow and deferrable views that will be part of Angular version 17. The Typescript-based web development framework's release is expected in November. More: - The new declarative control flow introduces functionalities of NgIf, NgFor, and NgSwitch directives into the framework.
- Additionally, deferrable views allows templates to load dependencies lazily in response to configurable trigger conditions.
- During the RFC process for syntax changes, the Angular team identified @-syntax as a popular alternative to other proposals.
- In the 2023 Angular Developer Survey, over 70% of developers pointed to @-syntax as their preferred syntax choice over the original #-syntax.
Q: How will the shift to @-syntax impact readability and writability in Angular projects? Join the conversation here. | | |
| 2 | | Deno introduced Deno Queues, a new tool that aims to revolutionize scalable messaging and enhance the management of background processing in applications. Deno Queues is built on Deno KV, which was released earlier this year and is currently in open beta. More: - Through two APIs, .enqueue and .listenqueue, Deno Queues enables developers to offload parts of their application or schedule work for the future to run asynchronously.
- Deno Queues guarantees at-least-once delivery and can be combined with KV atomic transactions primitives to unlock powerful workflows.
- Its use cases include scheduling email notifications, processing webhooks, building bots in Discord or Slack, etc.
- Queues is priced in terms of Deno KV operations and Deno Deploy requests, specifically enqueuing a message and receiving a message.

| A message from our sponsor, Paragon. | | | Can't keep up with your customers' requests for integrations? Read this Build vs. Buy: Native Integrations Guide Your B2B SaaS company needs to provide seamless native integrations to sell into the market today. Look at the leaders in every category. HubSpot, Atlassian, Slack - all of these companies built moats around their integration ecosystem. However, the engineering effort required to build and maintain dozens of native integrations is significant, which is why companies backlog these requests. This leaves revenue on the table from the closed lost deals against competitors, churn, and a lack of upsell levers. Embedded integration platforms streamline the integration development process, but adopting one isn't an easy decision - there are tradeoffs you need to consider. Read our in-depth comparison guide below that covers the factors your engineering team needs to consider when making a Build vs. Buy decision. Get the guide | |
