| Good morning and thanks for opening Inside Streaming! Yesterday, I mentioned that I'm going to move away from including so much sports content in the Daily Calendar, as it was crowding out other kinds of programming and making the lists too long. I got some great, helpful feedback from readers that indicated I'm probably on the right track... but there's still some desire for relevant listings here when the events are streaming exclusives. That makes a lot of sense to me. I'm still working out the kinks, but definitely appreciate hearing from all of you. Always feel free to hit REPLY on any of these emails and let me know what you think of the newsletter. Lon p/lon-harris | |

- The latest "Star Wars" series, "Ahsoka," scored 14 million views across its first five days on Disney+.
- According to Disney, "Loki" had the second most-watched Disney+ season premiere of the year, behind only "The Mandalorian" Season 3, which arrived in March.

| 2 | | Variety looked at the streaming news rivalry brewing between CNN and NBC. While Warner Bros. Discovery recently moved a lot of CNN content over to the Max service, NBC has long been building out a portfolio of streaming programs, available via both the NBC News Now app and Peacock. More: - WB Discovery's decision to port a lot of CNN cable content directly over to Max has proved controversial with some pay-TV providers, specifically DirecTV, who has argued that the move violates pre-standing carriage agreements.
- Mark Thompson took over as new CNN chief executive just this week; he has said that TV productions are "too dominant" at the network, while digital-first content is "too marginal."
- According to NBCUniversal, the NBC News Now division is already profitable.
- In a 2022 survey, 82% of US adults responded that they already get some of their news from a smartphone, computer, or tablet; 49% said they "often" get their news this way.

"I love Amazon, they're great, but there was barely any marketing for this show," Dean said, adding "this thing just popped up but I had no idea what it was or what was going to happen." More: - Dean claims that Amazon spends around 20 times more per episode to promote the live-action superhero series "The Boys" than it does on the animated but similarly-themed "Invincible."
- Dean leads Skybound Entertainment's Animation Studio, which produces "Invincible"; the comic publisher is best known for developing AMC's "Walking Dead" franchise.
- While "Invincible" will debut its second season in November, Dean warned that there will be a gap in the releases for adult animation shows soon, as a result of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
