| 1 | | Apple launched iOS 17.4 yesterday, and the update included transcripts in Apple Podcasts. Apple has stated that this will make podcast content available for the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. More: - The episode's transcript is available in the bottom left corner of the Now Playing screen. Text highlighting is in sync with the audio, so you can read along as the podcast moves forward.
- The transcripts come in different languages, including English, Spanish, French, and German.
- You can also search the text and change the font and size of the text to make it easier to read.
- Apple Podcast transcriptions are also available on the iPad, thanks to the iPadOS 17.4 update.
- Transcripts are automatically available for episodes shortly after they are published. Older episodes will be transcribed over time.
- "Introducing transcripts on Apple Podcasts builds on Apple's commitment to making products and services for everyone," said Sarah Herrlinger, Apple's Senior Director of Global Accessibility Policy & Initiatives. "We are thrilled to make transcripts widely available for all, adding an additional layer of accessibility to the Podcasts experience."

NPR came in second with 19,785,000 listeners, and Wondery came in third with 17,631,000 listeners. It should be noted that NPR has 156 fewer active shows than Wondery. | | |
