| Hello again and thanks for opening today's Inside Streaming brief. I'll admit, I'm sort of thrown by this teaser for Disney's latest "Star Wars" series, "The Acolyte." They've made such a big deal out of this show being set in the "High Republic Era," the age before any of the "Star Wars" films when the Jedi were at their zenith of power and influence. I was sort of expecting more along the lines of "Middle-earth with lightsabers," a Medieval fantasy take on this universe. Instead, it basically looks like "Star Wars." Hard to even say whether this world looks cleaner and less post-industrial than the other shows and films, which are set in the ruined era after the Sith destroyed the peace and serenity of the High Republic. I don't get why they woudln't do more to visually distinguish this show from the others, but oh well, I guess that's Disney in 2024. I'll still watch, of course. Enjoy today's issue!
