1 RedCircle, the podcast hosting and advertising platform, has unveiled OpenRAP, the first automated host-read ad platform. OpenRAP will deliver new host-read ads across hosting platforms and directly into content. More: The RedCircle Ad Platform (RAP) has allowed podcasts that are hosted on RedCircle to automate host-read ads into their podcasts. OpenRAP allows the system to be utilized on other hosting platforms as well. OpenRAP utilized a VAST interconnection between it and the hosting platform to manage ad insertion as well as deliver data and analytics for how a campaign does. The podcaster is responsible for accepting the deal and uploading the ad read, and the product takes care of inserting it into content. OpenRAP has been beta-tested for the past several months. The results were overwhelmingly positive, and the waitlist to use the product is now open.  "At the heart of RedCircle has always been our core mission: to get podcasters paid," said Mike Kadin, CEO of RedCircle. 2 What the data says: Some big leaps up the podcast charts occurred in February in Latin America. Both "Política" and "Viva Voz — Vera Magalhães" rocketed up 17 spots to Nos. 31 and 32, respectively. "Escándalo Mexicano" and "Pânico" rose 16 spots to Nos. 26 and 14. There was some negative movement as well, as "Projeto Humanos: O Caso Leandro Bossi" fell 18 spots from No. 19 to No. 37. Relevance: Triton Digital released the Latin America Podcast Ranker for February 2024. It ranks the top podcasts with the most average weekly downloads in the month. The top three shows remained the same, as "LOS40 MX — La Corneta," "O Assunto," and "Mais Recentes" stayed put. There was plenty of shuffling in the Top 10 as "Panda Show — Sin Censura," "Boletim Folha," "Titulares Deportivos," and "Resumão Diário" all moved upward. More show movement: "Assistente de Voz - Resumão" made an impressive debut, appearing in the ranker for the first time at No. 23. Other debuts included "Medo do Escuro — O caso João Paulo" at No. 35, "Sin Ley C4" atNo. #41, and "CBN Rio" at No. 60.

3 Rich Roll, the wellness expert and best-selling author behind the "Rich Roll Podcast," is launching the Voice Changing Media podcast creator network. The network will feature podcasts that aim to "inspire, educate, entertain, and empower people to live healthier and more authentic, purpose-driven lives." More: The initial lineup includes new and established shows such as "Soul Boom" by Rainn Wilson, "Feel Better, Live More" by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, "The Proof" by Simon Hill, "Mentor Buffet" by Alexi Pappas, and "The Conversation" by Amanda de Cadenet. Voice Changing Media is a partnership between Rich Roll Enterprises and talent management from RXR Sports.  Roll's own podcast is an independent show. It is distributed by PRX and is a part of the NPR Podcast Network. Season 2 just started, and the show looks at environmental issues facing coastal communities along the Gulf Coast. 5 Edison Research unveiled the list of the top 10 podcasts most listened to by women in the U.S. who consume podcasts weekly. "Crime Junkie" claimed the top spot, followed by "The Joe Rogan Experience." More: Edison Research surveyed women weekly podcast listeners ages 13 and over for their Q4 2023 listening habits to assemble the list. The rest of the list includes: "Dateline NBC" "The Daily" "Call Her Daddy" "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce" "Morbid" "My Favorite Murder" "SmartLess" "Stuff You Should Know" "Crime Junkie" was the second most listened-to podcast in the U.S. in Q4 2023 overall, while "The Joe Rogan Experience" was the most popular.  Five of the top 10 shows are hosted by women. Four of the top 10 shows fall in the true crime genre.

6 Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) has launched a podcast called "Bernie: The Podcast." He announced it earlier this week in a statement on X.  More: The 82-year-old Sanders mentioned that the show would debut this week, and the first episode premiered yesterday and can be found in both video and audio form.  The premiere episode discussed the state of the progressive movement and how Democrats can retain the White House in 2024. Sanders mentioned that, in the first few episodes, he will discuss his new book, "It's OK to Be Angry About Capitalism." The former Presidential candidate joins numerous current members of Congress as hosts of podcasts. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) hosts "Verdict with Ted Cruz," while Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) hosts "Hold These Truths with Dan Crenshaw."
