SECRETS OF SUMMER (CIELO GRANDE): The Spanish-language teen drama series, about a Mexican athlete who ventures to an Argentine resort while investigating her family's history, is back for a second season. WILDCAT: 2022 documentary feature profiling Harry Turner, a British soldier and Afghanistan War veteran who found new direction in his life after visiting the Amazon rainforest. Working with conservationist Samantha Zwicker and raising orphaned animals has helped Turner begin the recovery process from his severe depression and PTSD. [Amazon]
ISLAND: Korean action-fantasy series, based on the comic by Yoon In-wan and Yang Kyung-il. The show centers on a group of supernatural heroes teaming up to fight back an invasion of Jeju Island by monsters and goblins; it draws inspiration from the island's traditional legends and folklore. THIS PLACE RULES: Satirical documentary feature from online personality and gonzo journalist Andrew Callaghan, following along as he tours the US and speaks with various activists and protesters -- including "InfoWars" host Alex Jones -- in the months preceding the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. THE WAY OF THE HOUSEHUSBAND: The anime comedy series, based on the manga by Kousuke Oono, centers on retired yakuza boss Tatsu, who gives up the criminal world in favor of a quiet, domestic life. Season 2 hits Netflix in the US today. [Netflix]
DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST 2023: The annual holiday special airs Saturday night on ABC and hits Hulu on Sunday.
