2 | What the numbers say: Independent podcasters understand that podcasting is a long game, and it takes time to develop your show. 35% of respondents answered the question, "What's the #1 key to podcasting success," with "Playing the long game." "Planning" earned 19% of the votes, and "Good equipment" took 14%. "Coaching" was the only other answer to earn a double-digit percentage of answers. Relevance: The Podcast Host released an independent podcaster census titled "IndiePod Manifesto" that dives into the world of podcasting. Through three months of interviews with 1,200 independent podcasters, The Podcast Host was able to collect data on how those in the industry see the industry. Some thought that the #1 success was just how many listens a show gets, while others believe a good editor is what makes the difference. More data: Another question asked was whether or not podcasters use video as a part of their podcasts. Over 50% said they don't currently use video, while others said they only use it for marketing and promotions. Just shy of 11% said they record and publish full video episodes. | | |

3 | Auddia, a developer of an AI platform for technologies for podcasts, announced that it had combined an algorithm that can deliver ad-free listening to audiences. It combined its algorithm with natural language processing in a new audio classification model. More: - Auddia has an app called the faidr audio Superapp and recently released faidr 3.0, which adds podcasts and exclusive content as faidrRadio.
- The Superapp uses Auddia's AI-based audio-classification algorithm to bring audiences ad-free AM/FM radio. With the latest tweak of the algorithm, that same technology will be applied to podcasts.
- "We've been conducting basic research with natural language processing and exploring how NLP can be combined with our core AI technology for audio content analysis," said Michael Lawless, CEO of Auddia. "In our current development phase, the ability to deliver ad-free podcasts is a clear application and can be executed within the faidr app, as a SaaS offering to podcast networks, or even an integrated solution for other podcasting apps."
- Auddia will announce plans for a launch of a new ad-free podcast app later this year.
