Hello again! We got a first real trailer for "Argylle," the long-awaited spy comedy from Apple and "Kingsman" veteran Matthew Vaughn, and it doesn't actually look like Henry Cavill stars in this movie after all! Apple's been touting this as a Henry Cavill spy franchise for at least a year now, by my count, and yet the new trailer indicates it's actually about a novelist (played by Bryce Dallas Howard) who writes spy novels and gets into real-world trouble... And Cavill is just playing the fictional spy from her books. Maybe the movie really does cut back and forth a lot between our world and the literary world of the books, but still... feels TO ME like a bit of a bait-and-switch there. I'm interested to see how much of the marketing focuses on the Cavill/Dua Lipa spy world stuff now that the secret's basically out. Enjoy today's issue! We'll see you back here tomorrow with more updates and the weekend calendar. Lon p/lon-harris | |
