Google released Chrome 100 for Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS with a new icon. Google launched the browser’s initial beta in Sept. 2008, and after following a six-week update release cycle for more than a decade, the browser reached the milestone release yesterday. More: - The three-digit version is expected to cause bugs and compatibility issues for certain websites.
- Mozilla will release Firefox 100 in May. Chrome and Firefox have been working together to mitigate the impact of three-digit browser versions.
- Google requests website maintainers to test their websites with Chrome and Firefox 100 and developers to add tests to parse versions greater than and equal to 100.
- Support for unreduced user-agent strings by default will stop with this version, and from Chrome 101, it will be gradually reduced.
- It also contains a Multi-Screen Window Placement API that enumerates the displays connected to a user’s machine and places windows on specific screens.

A researcher has discovered that Yandex, known as Russia’s Google, sent user data harvested from Apple and iOS apps to servers in Russia. Russian laws could force the company to disclose the data to the government. More: - Yandex’s SDK offering, AppMetrica, is used by developers to provide ad tracking, usage analytics, and crash analytics.
- AppMetrica is available free of cost, and developers share user data in return.
- Yandex confirmed that it collects device, network, and IP address information and stores it in servers in Finland and Russia.
- It argued that it is extremely difficult to identify users based on the collected data and that it has not shared user information with anyone.
- According to the report, AppMetrica is used by 52,000 apps such as games, messaging apps, VPNs, etc., that millions of users have downloaded.
- Zach Edwards discovered this data collection practice during an app auditing campaign for a non-profit, Me2B Alliance.

A message from SONRAI SECURITY Get a list of data and identity security measures that you should implement to protect your AWS org. As the market leader, AWS is constantly innovating, creating more powerful and complex ways to set up your cloud infrastructure. Innovation breeds value, but it also requires vigilant updating of your security priorities. That's why we made the AWS Security Checklist for 2022. There are many benefits to using AWS, but how do you manage security, compliance, and access risk within the AWS environment? Ignoring security gaps and relying on a single vendor dramatically increases risk, but with many cloud and security teams being asked to reduce costs in the challenging economic climate, taking a single vendor approach can be tempting. To ease the worry of a misconfiguration, we’ve collected the best tips and tricks from our clients and pulled them together in our AWS Security Checklist. Claim your Free AWS Security Checklist | |
