1 | DoorDash is now testing AI-powered voice ordering that connects customers with the technology when placing takeout or delivery orders. The AI service, called DashAI, automatically handles customer calls at restaurants, making sure they don't go unanswered. More: - The AI-powered service supports voice ordering in multiple languages along with quick reordering for returning customers.
- It provides personalized meal suggestions to complement orders and encourage upselling.
- It has an option for live agents to assist as needed
- Initially, the AI tool will undergo testing in a limited capacity for specific restaurants and can be tailored to reflect their branding.
Zoom out: - DoorDash internal research shows that around half of customer calls to restaurants remain unanswered, potentially resulting in missed takeout orders and revenue loss for operators.
- One in five customers prefers to order takeout by phone, according to the report.
- In Q2 2023, DoorDash handled 532 million orders totaling $16.5M. Its revenue grew by 33% year-over-year to reach $2.1B.

2 | OpenAI today unveiled ChatGPT Enterprise, the business-focused version of its popular AI chatbot. With the offering, OpenAI is seeking to boost ChatGPT adoption in workplaces, where around 16% of employees are familiar with the tool report using it for work tasks. Details: The enterprise version of ChatGPT offers "enterprise-grade security," along with unlimited access to GPT-4, longer context windows, advanced data analysis, and customization. According to OpenAI, any business data sent to ChatGPT Enterprise won't be used for training models, and all conversations are encrypted. What brands should care: The offering, developed in partnership with over 20 companies, counts Block, Estee Lauder Companies, and PwC as clients. It mirrors Microsoft's Bing Chat Enterprise in features. OpenAI says it's now "onboarding as many enterprises as we can over the next few weeks." The bigger picture: Less than a year after its consumer launch, about 24% of Americans familiar with ChatGPT have used it, with higher usage among younger adults and those with higher education levels. 3 | The U.S. Air Force is seeking a budget of $5.8B to develop AI-driven XQ-58A Valkyrie aircraft, The New York Times reported. The autonomous aircraft would function as robotic companions to human pilots, flying alongside manned aircraft to offer support and take on life-threatening missions. More: - The Air Force aims to build between 1,000 and 2,000 of the AI-piloted unmanned aircraft.
- The cost per unit is estimated at $3M to $25M, significantly lower than manned fighter jets.
- The XQ-58A Valkyrie can travel at speeds of 550 mph, operate at an altitude of 45,000 feet, and cover a range of 3,000 nautical miles.
- The budget request is awaiting approval by Congress and spans five years. It mostly covers costs to manufacture the aircraft, which have already undergone testing.

4 | AI startup Intenseye is in the process of securing new funding that is anticipated to triple its valuation, according to Forbes sources. The Series B funding round, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, is set to value the AI-driven workplace safety firm at roughly $300M. More: - According to an insider, Intenseye is expected to raise $65M in the round, which reportedly materialized in only days amid increased investor interest in AI firms.
- Intenseye uses machine learning to detect hazardous worker behavior and unsafe working conditions from workplace camera feeds.
- Its software, which connects to existing surveillance cameras, can spot problems like breaches of danger zones and inadequate protective gear.
- The startup, co-headquartered in Istanbul and New York, announced a $25M Series A round in September 2021.
