1 | Good morning/afternoon! Last night, I watched the HBO doc "BS High," about the fake high school (Bishop Sycamore) that fielded a football team and played games against very real, elite programs, including a televised match against nationally-recognized IMG Academy. It's an incredible story that serves as an exposé about questionable practices within high school sports generally, but also a fascinating character study of Roy Johnson, the conman behind the scam. He's bound to be one of the year's most memorably chilling TV characters. The film is occasionally reminiscent of stuff like "The Jinx" or "Tiger King," in which producers manage to flatter a self-aggrandizing criminal into confessing on camera. Highly recommended! It's streaming now on Max. | | |
1 | A new report from Nielsen indicates that the number of shows and films available on streaming platforms increased by 39% over the last two years. Nielsen estimates that around 2.35 million individual titles are available to stream on services throughout the US, Canada, the UK, Mexico, and Germany. More: - The report included titles from 167 individual streaming services, up from 118 two years prior.
- The average time it takes for a viewer to select a program to watch has significantly increased as well; it was around 7 minutes in 2019, and a little over 10 in 2023.
- Nielsen largely credits the explosion of free, ad-supported streaming platforms -- such as Tubi and Pluto TV -- with the increase.

- The shows will stream for subscribers to every Max tier at no extra cost.

7 | Disney+ Hotstar will provide free cricket streams for smartphone and tablet users in India during the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup tournaments.
