1 StackOverflow plans to introduce a new AI tool called OverflowAI to enable developers to integrate generative AI into its public platform. Overflow CEO Prasanth Chandrasekar said OverflowAI aims to provide users with receive instant, trustworthy, and accurate solutions to questions through conversational AI. The tool is being trained using 58 million questions and answers from the StackOverflow community. Here's how developers want performance to be measured when AI coding tools are used:

2 Apple unveiled new rules that require developers to choose one or more of the "approved reasons" explaining why they want to access an API. As a result, apps will only be allowed to use the API for the specified purposes. The new rules, which aim to increase data privacy, come into effect in fall 2023. Apps that don't include a reason will be rejected from spring 2024.

3 Android announced the beta of Credentials Manager with a finalized API surface and support for passkeys, along with sign-in methods. Credentials Manager, announced in February, is a Jetpack library that streamlines user authentication and support for multiple password managers on Android 14 or higher.

4 The Rust Foundation released a new report highlighting the recent achievements of its security initiatives. These include progress on a complete security audit of the Rust ecosystem, completion of several threat models, and the development of new tools, among others.

5 GitHub identified two vulnerabilities in the Ruby-based citizen participation platform, Decidim, utilizing CodeQL for Ruby and multi-repository variant analysis (MRVA) to scan popular repositories for cross-site scripting (XSS). One bug would have allowed attackers to manipulate logged-in users to support proposals without their consent, while the other enabled data exfiltration via query filters.

6 Palo Alto Networks launched a new CI/CD security module that provides integrated software delivery pipeline security as part of its code-to-cloud capabilities in Prisma Cloud's CNAPP platform. Palo Alto Networks plans to make the service, which protects against Open Worldwide Application Security Top 10 CI/CD risks, along with pipeline posture management and attack path analysis through the Cloud Application Graph, available this summer.

7 Event-native API management platform Gravitee announced new enhancements, including support for companies adopting asynchronous APIs, streaming initiatives, and event-driven architectures. Gravitee's new capabilities now allow serializing and deserializing information between Avro and JSON, Avro and Portobuf, and Portobuf and JSON.
